This is where the marbles kids museum is.
Taking a pictures through a marbles.
I photograph highly reflective glass marbles both in a transparent or clear base glass with a design in the center and opaque white and colored examples with two and three color designs on the surface.
Equipped with the extension tube the lens enables me to get extremely close to the marble and to focus on just what is inside the marble.
You don t have to be a kid to go to the area across from moore square in downtown raleigh.
To get the landscapes in the marble i use a canon xs dslr camera with a 50mm f 1 8 lens and a 13mm opteka extension tube.
Reflective objects can create a glare when you take photos.
The best time to take photos there would be before or after high sun.
You need to think of the ball as an external fish eye lens.
Shiny walls mirrors glass and metal are a few of the objects that will reflect light from your flash or from the sun.
2 marbles are small glass balls great for refraction.
And they re really pretty.
The ball can also be good for architecture and even portrait photos if you now how to use it properly.
Glares can create a negative effect in a photo especially if the glare covers up the person or object that is the focal point in the image.
I had alot of success photographing them outdoors in a light tent with just the flash from the camera which i diffused with a dryer cloth.
When the museum is closed so are its gates.
